The Nintendo GameCube is Nintendo's fifth generation console. It was released in 2001, as the successor to the Nintendo 64, but it was discontinued in 2007, but still had compatibility on the new console, the Nintendo Wii. The games for the GameCube will also be downloadable on the Nintendo Wii's successor, the Wii U. It is regarded as Nintendo's most underrated console, undergoing the "fourth-console curse".
